D700 just departed Wyoming. They are heading west light power. First stop is at Coloma for a pick up. Running around their train at Riverside and then heading back to Gross to pull the storage cars from the siding there.
P371 is not out yet. The crew is being held for rest. The RN expects them to be running about 2 hours late.

Please do not poke at the ramp agent because he has the power to make your vacation

E95108, Essexville empties from Flint, should be on the move somewhere out there, not sure what time they left Flint.

Q326 east at the west end of Hudsonville at 1603. What I believe is Y106 is west at Madison Ave in GR at the same time.

By Plaster a few minutes later. Can't remember the Geep...a few more than 50 cars into Wyoming today, heavy with sand and boxes. Not sure if the signal suspension is over with yet, but the dwarfs have been pulled from their bases and are lying next to their former bases in the snow. The EAS Main track is still up, abeit with the clock ticking.

In other news, it is cold outside!

Ok, maybe one of the AMTRAK people can answer this for me. If the crew isn't going to be rested, AMTRAK should know that well ahead of time. Is there a lack of qualified crews out of Chicago that can 'cover' the run? They should have ample time to call a crew, and deadhead them to GR to at least get the train out on time. Use that van to bring the crew in the hotel in GR to 'chase down' the train if absolutely needed. Just seems really asinine to me to make the paying customers wait (and CSX have to move the train outside of the established windows) because the crew isn't rested.

Wow, I almost posted with the exact same point earlier...cannot believe we're thinking the same thing

But yeah, they would have known they were going to have this problem by 2300 last night at the latest. 8 hours to find a crew!

If you're going to provide transportation, especially for people, you better have a reliable service. I bet people LOVED sitting in the amshacks for two hours this morning! I hope those heaters work...

Track light on south of the diamond at Ann Pere is putting the cramps on trains. Q335 is there now, short on time and currently flagging the diamond, E951 Essexville empty still coming, G85210, grain load from either Grand Ledge or Newayo is in the pass at Fowlerville for the westbounds. However, G852 is now cutting the crossings at Fowlerville and tieing down their train and will take Q335 into GRP. The relief crew that WAS coming to get 335 will now get the Essexville empty and a third crew will eventually come to get the grain load. However, with GLC telling the RN it will be a LONG TIME before the diamond circut is repaired, whoever gets the grain load may have to double the train to South Lyon, with Brighton blocked if they don't make the hill. Looks like a long night for many
