Definitely west of Lansing. The right side of the road is in one township and the other side is in another.MKT_fan11 wrote:Somewhere west of Lansing?Jochs wrote:Here's one. This is evidence of a railroad crossing from the past. The pavement markings are under several layers of tar and gravel.
Where is it (hint: this is a boundary between two townships, so there are two correct answers.) and what was the railroad? (Hint: Rails pulled up around 1982.)
Where Is It?

Re: Where am I?
If it was in 82, how about the old line between GRR & Hastings/Charlotte?
or BH to Niles,
or Three Rivers to Jackson
or Grand Ledge to Ionia.

Since we're on the theme of impossible to find grade crossings, here's a second one to guess.
Hints: East of Hemlock, north of Lapeer. The line is active (as opposed to abandoned).

Was it the KB&E's crossing of Devine Road just south of Thornapple Road, west of Nashville?

Its been a week so I will guess. Beyer Rd looking west on the HESR between Saginaw and Arthur.MKT_fan11 wrote:Since we're on the theme of impossible to find grade crossings, here's a second one to guess.

Re: Where am I?
My photo is on Townline Road in Berrien County. The crossing is the Big-Four Line between Benton Harbor and Niles, and the location is the Benton/Sodus Township line. The right side of the photo is Benton Harbor and the left side is Sodus. The marking that is clearly visible is on the Benton Harbor side of the road.Jochs wrote:Definitely west of Lansing. I had to look it up to be sure, but it is not Beyer Road. Close though- and it is a west looking photo.

Yates looking west. It looks different now as the crosswalk was moved. Remnants of the bridge are still in place over the Clinton River but it was fenced off.AARR wrote:Next picture. Hints are:

The tracks aren't there now, and it is in Michigan.
