Q289 running lite just turned east at Plymouth about 10 minutes ago. Too far away to see the 2 engine #s, but heard CSX 612 leading on the scanner.

Currently sitting just north of Porter. Chicago West just called them to come on down to get onto NS.

Came off the CSX with what looked like 130 normal cars and then a half dozen bottom-dump cars from BNSF, not matched with the rotating ends...

Five Trains today off the CSX GR Sub at Porter...first, unfilmed was Q327, then P371, N910, E949 and finally P370 with 1+3

Re: CSX Train Location Update 3-21-14/ Fox?

In the Grand Rapids posts, there is a reference to "Fox" location, which seems near the GR Airport. To what is Fox referring?

Fox is the name of the siding next to the airport. Used to have quite a few industries one of them had the name Henry A. Fox. They distributed beverages. Alot has changed since I railfanned in grand rapids. Most of the industries at fox are torn up or no longer served.

Q334 passing through woodbury at about 11:15. Ch116.3. I'm guessing that was the one at the airport you heard. Would have been an east bound.

Heard another train Passing through on the scanner at about 20:40. Not sure what that one was never heard a clear train ID on the scanner.

It was called Fox long before Henry A Fox moved to their location on 36th Street.

Not sure what happened to P370, they were by us at Porter at 18:12 CDT, only about 20 minutes off the pace.

My late father said it was named after a family farm in the area when the railroad was first built.
