Re: ns heritage units: who has seen them and who hasn't
I'm up to 8 now. I saw the NYC Heritage Unit at Osceola and Elkhart in IN this evening.
I first saw it in Osceola and used my special railfanning powers to convince M6E, the train it was on, to stop for fuel in Elkhart.

Re: ns heritage units: who has seen them and who hasn't
16 now. I caught the Pennsy and NW the other night. I also saw the Veterans engine last night but the video camera died and I got nothing out of it.
So I've seen -
NYC (Multiple times)
Erie (Multiple times)
MGA (Multiple times)
DLW (Trailing )
CofG (twice but no shots either time)
VGN
CNJ
Wabash
LV
Illinois Terminal (Trailing)
RDG (Too many times to want to count)
Conrail (Even more times than the Reading)
S&A
PC (Nighttime video only)
Pennsy (Trailing)
N&W (DPU, Nighttime video only)
NS 6920 Honoring our Veterans (nothing to show for it at all)
And I've also seen 3 UP ones.
C&NW
SP (Trailing)
DRGW.
And of course, none of my counts include all 20 of them at Spencer. It was a great event but it was staged for all 20 to be there.

I've seen two now, both in western Illinois on one of the BNSF lines. I guess that's where I need to go to see NS heritage.

Re: ns heritage units: who has seen them and who hasn't
9 for me. As I type this the Erie unit, NS 1068,is sitting in front of me near Hively Ave in Elkhart, IN.
I got some pics and will post them later.
Here's one.
Once again, I used my special Iron Horse Whispering powers to convince them to stop at Hively for pics. Now that I think of it I should have gotten them to stop by the car dealership at Dunlap where there is lots of light by the tracks.

Up to 17 now. Got the Southern last weekend in Alabama, and while it's not included in my count, I got the Honoring Our Veterans 6920 Friday.

I haven't seen a single one. I am going to jab my eyes out with a cactus when I see one. I am so sick and tired of every other message being about them. To the torch!

Re: ns heritage units: who has seen them and who hasn't
Just saw the LV unit leading at 0734, heading west at CP 518 on the former CR Chicago Line towards the BNSF connection at 21st St. with an empty oil train. Was sitting on AMTK 350 heading back to Pontiac, so no time to react and snap a grab photo - sorry.

Re: ns heritage units: who has seen them and who hasn't
Up to 11 now. I saw the NS 8099, the "Southern" unit earlier tonight in Elkhart.
This was taken while I was pacing the train as they passed through the yard. (Old US33 runs alongside most of the length of Elkhart Yard.)
Too bad they didn't stop at Hively Ave or at the fuel pad in Elkhart.
