397: Q335 at Lake Odessa

Ep. 397: CSX Freight Train at Lake Odessa & the Big Dipper!

CSX's Q335 hauls west on an early fall afternoon in Lake Odessa, Michigan on the CSX Plymouth Subdivision. 147 cars trail, continuing the trend of landbarge Q335s.

The train makes its run through the "Big Dipper", a several mile long deep sag in the subdivision where the tracks fall to near the level of Jordan Lake before climbing back out. Thanks to momentum the train makes it out without issue.

Unfortunately a lack of foresight leaves that Stop & Dismount sign in the way...but it still looks good otherwise. Something to keep in mind for next time I make Lako.

For another view of the Big Dipper, see the link below to watch Q335's counterpart Q334 take on the dip from the other direction:

- CSX 8606 [SD50-2]
- CSX 2733 [GP38-2]
- CSX 2752 [GP38-2]
- 147 cars [Mixed]
Location/Time:
- CSX Plymouth Sub, Lake Odessa, MI, 4th Avenue xing, on 10-5-14 at 14:42 EDT

I like the detail you put into your train descriptions, MQT.

Anyone ever take a train across the "dip". I'd be curious what it's like :?
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...
