I'll be there, might bring some engines to sell that don't fit my locale.

There is a section on Model Railroading that would be more appropriate, but oh well.rustbeltrailroad wrote:Just a reminder...

Isn't this THE SHOW to go to or is that the one in Detroit? Maybe next year when I have some cash.
1223 OUT! President and Founder of the Buck Creek Central, the Rolling River Route! (2012-2017) President and Founder of the Lamberton Valley Railroad, The Tin Plate Road! Proudly railfanning with Asperger's since 1996.

No World's Greatest Hobby show or the like in the Detroit area this year that I know of. So, other than the local shows, this is the one to check out.

Re: HUGE Lansing Model Train Show next week!
Someone's putting on a show in Novi in January, but not sure who. The Lansing show is usually much better, especially if you're on a budget. Unless you absolutely hate horse shows.
I spent my model RR budget at Gratiot Valley last weekend, and after vacation this week, I highly doubt I'll feel like driving to Lansing and back on Sunday. I agree with the statements above that this is one of the better shows on the east ( ) side of the state.

I always walk out with a good deal at this show. Plus when the wife gets tired of following me around, she goes to watch the horses and stops giving me the "do you really need that?" look.GreatLakesRailfan wrote:The Lansing show is usually much better, especially if you're on a budget. Any report on the show! This is one that I can't go to due to allergies.

It was great! Best it's been in years. Lots of great deals to be had.

Wish I could have gone. I should have had you pick me up a couple of these. The two I use are almost worn out.SD80MAC wrote:It was great! Best it's been in years. Lots of great deals to be had.

Yup, they had those...first time going to this show, was pleasantly surprised by how big it was....and how horsey the aroma was.....picked up a few cars, saw a few people from here...was worth going to
Re: HUGE Lansing Model Train Show next week!
I picked one of those up plus an Operation Lifesaver pen in Grand Rapids in January of this year. Look for them at the train show at the Home School Bldg the first Saturday of January, 2015.J T wrote:Wish I could have gone. I should have had you pick me up a couple of these. That's where I got mine a few years ago. I use two of them every day and one of them is completely blank as the black ink has worn off. I need some more! It makes spotting your keys so easy.Jochs wrote: Look for them at the train show at the Home School Bldg the first Saturday of January, 2015.

I got mine at Grand Rails and I have a spare somewhere. My dad didn't want his. (shocker)J T wrote:That's where I got mine a few years ago.
