Re: Rj Corman Western Ohio Lines ST Marys, SPEG, Greenville
Tuesday they delivered about 10 loads of scrap to Lima. Those were the only cars on the train-does that make it a unit train?!? Omnisourse in St Marys has really been loading a lot of scrap cars lately. Good business for Rj Corman.

I went by Helena in Coldwater, 2 cars on the north siding. A potash Corp and a FMLX. Wheels and track very shinny so likely set out today. Both their GP16's were by Accutec Films tied down.

1806 and 1731 Switching at Omnisource in St Marys. Train had about 15 cars before stopping at Onni: 6 CSXT MofW gons, 2 CSXT MW bulkhead flats loaded with assembled track panels, 3 MWCX covered hoppers (likely from Helena Ag) and a few pellet hoppers that I forgot to count.
EDIT: 5 pellet hoppers and 10 loads picked up at Onni bringing the total to 26 cars!

Re: Rj Corman Western Ohio Lines ST Marys, SPEG, Greenville
I was thinking today that a few years ago we were hearing all kinds of rumors of NS wanting to run on Rj Corman line again. We have though trains on CF&E again now its time to hope for though trains on the NKP.
I will say the line though Celina is starting to look a little ratty again. RjC was doing to good job of weed control on the line over the years but not this year apparently.
Also of note the former acid plant is being demolished and the mobile homes have been removed so that should open up some new views in the park.

NS running through on the former NKP is never, and I repeat, never, going to happen again.

I agree that the line will not likely be a through route for NS, however, traffic could return between two major locations on this line if current plans change with a major industry located along this line.Y@ wrote:NS running through on the former NKP is never, and I repeat, never, going to happen again.

Do they have a yard or do they use the NS yard in Lima?

They pick up their interchange from the south Lima yard, both CSX an NS cars. They have their own "Celina Yard" at the distribution center, 4 tracks.ABB1501 wrote:Do they have a yard or do they use the NS yard in Lima?

They also leave cars on the main at their shop. Last two weeks there have been a lot more cars left on the main than normal so I'm guessing traffic must be up.

In the summer they generally start their day out at Lima having left the locomotives there overnight but once its freezing the engines sleep in the shop. Make them easier to find, either they're out or not!

Re: Rj Corman Western Ohio Lines ST Marys, SPEG, Greenville
Corman will have cars stored on the line again this winter. There is about 130 GCPX hoppers in the south Lima yard. I was out by Ft Recovery recently and the line was empty so I am positive these are inbound.
