Recording F-Tower radio feed question
With F-tower in Fostoria planing to be closed next week, I'd like to record the audio from the railstream radio feed for the Fostoria area. Is there a program that possibly can record the audio from the radio feed? I'd like to record a few hours of feed.

Can't help you on the computer; I just plug a voice recorder into a scanner:

get a patch cord (1/8 stereo jack on both ends) plug one end into your speaker out the other end into mic in jack and record with any recoding software. This works best with 2 computers as not all sound cards can play and record at the same time.

Rule #1 of bulletins...you need to read them carefully.
The bulletin is referencing April 15, 2011, which discusses the Fostoria Subdivision. It's in reference to the timetable date, not to the date of closure.

Re: Recording F-Tower radio feed question
Thank you all for the advice, I used audacity to record audio feed while I visted yesterday, I can confirm that the tower is closing Monday night after listening to the radio chatter as well hearing from CSX employees.

By Tuesday night the trains will be parked for miles in each direction from Fostoria.

CSX is already a mess as it is....Q281 was stopped on the no. 1 main between east Fostoria and Columbus Ave at 10am and was still there when I left at 7:30. This meant csx was single track between East Fostoria and godsend all day. Also, the dispatcher was telling eastbounds the farthest they could make it would be Attica before a crew change was needed.

How's that any different than when it happens with an operator up there?JoJames wrote:By Tuesday night the trains will be parked for miles in each direction from Fostoria.

It was extremely amusing because while Csx was struggling to run trains through the junction, Ns was incredibly busy! They ran 15 trains in 11 hours, I don't think I've ever seen the Fostora district that busy.KittyLitter wrote:I find that most amusing!Conrailfan1999 wrote:CSX is already a mess as it is....Q281 was stopped on the no. 1 main between east Fostoria and Columbus Ave at 10am and was still there when I left at 7:30.
