Amtraks 352 and 355 meet at CP Ypsi

Last night I filmed the meet of Amtraks 352 and 355 at CP Ypsi. Nicely executed meet, and I have not much to say other than enjoy!

Why did they back out of the siding, rather than pull through?

The one main is "rusty rail" conditions, so about 15-25mph and be prepared to stop and flag at every crossing. That is from Ypsi to wayne so about 10 miles. It's faster to run the meet that way as 352 can make track speed after the short delay rather that crawl along.

If the meet is close/ well executed (as it was this day) the delay to either train is no more than 10 minutes vs theoretically 45 if they run down the rusty.

Not much worse than most meets elsewhere on the AML with the sidings. Unless it is timed perfectly, somebody's gonna have a little time to kill.

When I was in Kzoo last month, 351 was told to take it easy for a meet with 350 at Glenwood. They said 350 was still about 15 minutes out by track speed, this as 351 was taking the WEDT in Kzoo.
