Re: Where am I?
That looks so weird. A house with a playset to the left, a car parked on the street to the right with sidewalks and then here is a railroad in the middle of this...

Re: Where am I?
Believe it or not there are actually rails under those trains. That is the southern end of the SMRS Railroad. My shot above was the very northern end in Clinton.
The sad story is that everything south of the NS Mainline got cut off/orphaned from the rest of the line when NS decided to remove all the switching equipment that allowed SMRS to cross NS's tracks. I think they had a legal right due to Conrail's brief abandonment but they did it without any warning and purposely making it near impossible to get these trains reunited or ever use the whole track south to Lenawee Junction. I also seem to recall then that ADBF tried to annex those "abandoned" lines from SMRS.
I'm sure you can read more on this board and see photos of the equipment and rails south of NS.

Re: Where am I?
The fact that they cut it off is not ridiculous and makes a good amount of sense. Having your class 1 linked to a tourist line that has voulenter crews, speeder meets, ect is a disaster waiting to happen. One speeder makes a mistake, one voulenter crew member has a mental lapse.. Bam. I've heard a little on the background of this issue, but can't remember why they didn't move the equiptment before they cut it (may have been that yhe northern end couldn't have the cars/ RS-1 ect or that NS cut it with little warning). Either way no reason to have that Diamond in, technicality or not it should have been cut at some point.. Although from what I do remember it was cut basically out of no where I think.. Either way I don't think they diamond should have remained.

I-75 is that huge bridge in the background, West Jefferson is that huge arterial to the right, Visger runs across the bottom, High Street is the road that runs parallel to Jefferson in the center, Rouge Steel is the red buildings at the upper left.
