AARR wrote:This looks like the railcar repair place in Waterford. Used to be operated by Trailer Train and their tracks were full of 89' flat cars and vehicle carriers. I believe someone else operates it now and it is far less busy and it seems just auto carriers. The way the tracks are cramped onto the property reminds me of one of my first HO layouts where I crambed as much track onto a board with no layout design or track planMichael wrote:How about this place? The spur at the bottom goes to a now vacant lumber yard that previously was operated by Erb and afterwards Stock.

Re: Where am I?
Ok Michael. Can you find the name of the business that was here? I've been past this location hundreds of times, always thought it was a feed mill or something. Since I posted the picture I have been searching for a intelligent answer of what it was with no success. I've got two e-mails out for answers, maybe you or someone knows.Michael wrote:I just happen to know your last 2 photos. I love that part of Michigan

Try to name the business, location, and the rail line behind the building.

Re: Where am I?
Interesting seeing the Grand River bridge in Lowell at 3:20 of the video. I always thought the existing curve to the east/west main was part of the original layout (which would have made a complete wye), but it appears that if they wanted to go into Lowell, they'd have to do a reverse move up the connector track across Gd. River Ave. Is this correct?MQT1223 wrote:

Re: Where am I?
The connector track in the NW quadrant at Lowell was constructed sometime in the last 10-15 years.
Re: Where am I?
What was the procedure if they had a bunch of cars to take to Electrolux in Greenville? Run around the cars on the passing siding just east of the Segwun crossing and then shove them on the connector south across Grand River Ave before they could go north over the diamond and bridge?Mark F wrote:The connector track in the NW quadrant at Lowell was constructed sometime in the last 10-15 years.
