I don't think many of those come up this way anymore. The only real chance was with MSU coal trains but those are now done. And unless you know people, any rail yard or place where the might be are off limits if an oddball wonders out of way. Ohio is probably the better place to find them.

I see one of these come through GR once in a while loaded with junk ties for the GLC. No idea on the number but it's one of the ones that's been reassigned to MOW service.

Thanks for the info so far.
The only time I paid attention to any type of open hopper load was for Pfizer. They would get 3 and 4 bays, both CR and NS..
Thanks guys!

I believe I saw two H43 on the GLC southbound at Durand last week. You may want to take a run up to Mccain where the ties are burned for fuel at the power plant or check the GLC yards in Cadillac.SD80MAC wrote:I see one of these come through GR once in a while loaded with junk ties for the GLC. I will be in Cadillac over the weekend, I'll take a snoop around and report back if I see anything.Standard Railfan wrote:I believe I saw two H43 on the GLC southbound at Durand last week. Thanks for the help!
I may take a ride down to Kazoo and see what Pfizer is getting now a days.

The Phizer coal now comes from a CSX mine. They've been getting freshly refurbished and repainted CSX 3 bays almost exclusively since they switched suppliers last year.
