Kal-Haven Trail near South HavenAARR wrote:Is this on the west side of MI?
I didn't see the bridge at first, but when I saved the photo and zoomed in there it was. It matches the photo image of the Donald F. Nichols Covered Bridge. Interesting pick Z.

Re: Where am I?
Sorry, this actually isn't correct for my photo. The one I took isn't on the Kal-Haven trail at all; north of that.Pixl wrote:Kal-Haven Trail near South HavenAARR wrote:Is this on the west side of MI?

The Donald F. Nichols Covered Bridge is a highlight of the Kal-Haven Trail Linear State Park, which extends from Kalamazoo to South Haven. The bridge is rebuilt from an existing railroad trestle bridge into a 108-foot long covered footbridge. Easily accessible to casual walkers as well as to avid bicyclists.

No one is going to get this unless they personally recognize it. How about some mild hint or direction of the view?

GRHC - you know every night I can imagine he is in front of his computer screen sitting in his underwear swearing profusely and drinking Blatz beer combing the RailRoadFan website for grammatical errors.

The view's a little dated. They've finished the convention center to the north of the hotel (Doubletree by Hilton) now. Here's a shot of the restaurant on the right side of the frame...with a train in it.Michael wrote:AARR wrote:Port Huron, line to Dunn Paper?Michael wrote:

This is the 2nd Port Huron shot posted when I wasn't paying attention to the thread...

I just looked at the area just south of Shepard and your guess is excellent. The areas are near identical in street view but that is not it.
What is unique about the photo I posted is the tracks themselves. They are neither Class 1 nor Short line but still actively used.
