The ballast looks about ok, but a little rust on the top of the rails suggest a lightly used branch line. But which one ....59caddy wrote: One more, then a hint.

Good to hear. I want to get a photo of that someday.Pixl wrote:From M-65 take Moors Landing Rd. to the West. See Google maps. Worthington is at the end of the line. They get a few car loads several times a month. There's another steel mill about a mile or so north that ships steel dust in covered hoppers.

Re: Where am I?
Correct on the Jackson Branch. Any more guesses on the branchline? I will say that this branchline is owned by a different company than that which owns the mainline.

Re: Where am I?
Yeah, you're right. It's east of Flint and north of Metro Detroit.

Re: Where am I?
Ok 59, I found it, but still took some work. I've never noticed that branch off the CN, the Lapeer Industrial Railroad 1.34 miles of track on the former MC south of Lapeer, McCormick Dr. crossing. Good one.

The graffiti somewhat gives a clue as to what rail line this is.
For the younger rail fans here Grand Funk is a popular 1970's rock band. Their name was inspired from a Railroad that passed thru their hometown.

This bridge floods 99% of the time when it rains. Its amazing that most of the time this happens someone always tries to go through it and fails for them miserably.

END OF THE LINE
Here are two dead ends that are off the same branch. One to the East and one to the West and near each other. Note the ballast looks pretty good for terminated rail service.

Close MQT, not quite. First is Patterson Ave near West Side Beer in Kentwood, and 2nd photo is Broadmoor Ave about 300 feet west of the first photo, spur to Steelcase.
