NS/Midwest Rail/TLE&W
The old TLE&W thread was locked, and perhaps this one will end up being locked too, but I saw this on the STB site today. It looks like this should spell the end of the matter. NS has filed to discontinue rail service on the nearly two miles of track between Maumee and Waterville, and is also filing for Midwest Rail to discontinue lease operations over the track.

I didn't get the impression that the segment of track was for sale after reading the STB.

Manville is a very active shipper on the east side of Waterville. This kind of puzzles me.

It's only 1.8 miles, and I'm sure NS owns more trackage than that (south)west of Manville yet. This is probably just the segment formerly leased to the TLE&W.

Re: NS/Midwest Rail/TLE&W
But it says Maumee which is very confusing.
Re: NS/Midwest Rail/TLE&W
I'm thought NS owned the railroad in Waterville around where the depot is at, and the TLE&W owner ship started on the west side of town, Maybe that what they are talking about from where the TLE&W ends to over where John Manville is, If that the case, TLE&W may never be able to get back into Waterville where the Depot at. Have to ask a buddy of mine about it
CSX_CO: 10 minutes, keep hoping the yard blows up and I won't have to go in tonight.

It says near Maumee. This document is very clear to me at least. We are talking only about the 1.8 miles leased.

Re: NS/Midwest Rail/TLE&W
If I remember right from the original filing for the lease, the trackage in question was the segment from Dutch Road into town near the Depot. Why they chose "Maumee" I have no idea.

Maumee is milepost 10. The listing is 13.2 to 15, So west of Maumee. The listing says "Maumee" but its the milepost that really matter.
