Looks just like it, and it's on the same line, otherwise not the right one.

I said the same thing 5 posts up. I did find a bunch of cool bridges while searching for this one. Like the Duck Creek swing bridge. Cool.

Your photo of the lot is too small to see anything. Must be a thumbnail. Can you re-post a larger one or maybe throw out another hint?

Yeah i wish i had a better photo. The same line, about 1/4 of a mile west (which is the way the photo is facing) passes through a major university and is also a short bike trail.Pixl wrote:ConrailMan5 wrote: Former LS&MS, business in who's lot I am standing is a storage/ uhaul. If that is not enough, ill blame the bad picture and give it away

I think you are in Ypsilanti.ConrailMan5 wrote:Yeah i wish i had a better photo. The same line, about 1/4 of a mile west (which is the way the photo is facing) passes through a major university and is also a short bike trail.

Your major university is Michigan U.
The bike path is the "Border-to-border Trail" that runs across the university generally following the LS&MS grade.
Street view doesn't let me pin point your exact spot but I think it is in the area of St. Johns St. and Huron R. Dr. (see photo)

Re: Where am I?
Your photo is correct but your description is not. The university is eastern Michigan, I am standing in the parking lot of the haul on Huron street. The tracks are left from where the Ex NYC hills dale branch joined the Michigan line. And we are indeed in Ypsilanti.Pixl wrote:I think you are in Ypsilanti.ConrailMan5 wrote:Yeah i wish i had a better photo. I will say this. You identified the storage area as "U-Haul", but after grilling the U-haul data base here and a dozen other cities there is no storage facility that matches your description, otherwise I might have snaged this location 3 days ago. It appears to be a independent storage place and is for sale.
Still very interesting that little piece of the once great LS&MS railroad has survived.

I don't have an educated guess so I'll through out my SWAG and start with Swartz Creek

This spur off the main is going to a large automotive supplier, although the plant is closed now and I have no idea when it last used the rails.AARR wrote:I don't have an educated guess so I'll through out my SWAG and start with Swartz CreekMichael wrote:
