St Joseph
Was in the St Joseph/Holland Michigan area over the weekend. Went to Silver Beach on Sunday. I saw the rail line that runs through the area and a swing bridge that crosses the river there. I was curious what railroad is this and how often do they run? I noticed the swing bridge was open, but the rails were shiny, not rusty.

Thanks for the info, was curious as the line runs through a pretty crowded area with the beach and all. Do they run at all on Sunday?

Yes. Keep an eye on the CSX update thread in this forum: viewforum.php?f=20
Weekdays are generally a tiny bit more busy than weekends.
Amtrak runs two trains daily, usually will see one coal train, one empty coal, a local usually runs to at least Coloma on M/W/F, sometimes past benton harbor. Also usually one mainfest freight a day except sundays.

Re: St Joseph
The manifests, Q326 and Q327, are almost exclusively night trains in SJM

The locomotive and the superliners seem to step down, same with the bridge. Like the photo didn't rotate correctly

Re: St Joseph
Wasn't the CSX television ad filmed in St. Joseph? Or at least near there?

This one says Devils Lake ( Wisconsin ), but really is St Joseph.
Here are MANY more pictures of St. Joseph. Not as professional but much more variety. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locThu ... x?id=68948

Don't look now, but the highway bridges may not be the only infrastructure in need of replacement! (Actually, I believe the trains enter a time warp/worm hole as they enter the bridge. When they get past the middle support, they instantly disappear, then reappear at the same spot, but just 5 hours older than when they arrived!)~Z~ wrote:Is it just me, or is something really wrong with this pic: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.p ... 999&nseq=2J T wrote:Check this link for some pics from the St. Joe area: http://tinyurl.com/nze3uohjldominique wrote:Thanks for the info, was curious as the line runs through a pretty crowded area with the beach and all. Yeah, that's really bad. Jaggies everywhere. The grain elevator is pretty bad too. Can't believe the screener missed that one...must have been some tired eyes screening at the time.~Z~ wrote: Is it just me, or is something really wrong with this pic: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.p ... 999&nseq=2
