This bridge used to carry a main line of the GTW, now abandoned in SE Michigan.

Off Rushton Street. I think I posted this one a long time ago or at least thought about it.

Yes, Rushton Rd. near Whitmore Lake. Strange how this stretch of the line escaped the degrade to bike trail, and the bridge to no where is still intact, and from your photo looks good enough to be put back in service tomorrow.Michael wrote:Pixl wrote:This bridge used to carry a main line of the GTW, now abandoned in SE Michigan.

Traverse City Tart bike trail. You are behind the dry cleaners on Holiday Rd.
Monday morning there was a big tree across the tracks just beyond where the camera is pointed.
Some interesting trivia, This was the first "Rails with Trails" in Michigan and served as a test model to see if the two can co-exist. They had no incidents and this led the way for other trail development in the state.

I kinda thought you would get that one Pixl. I saw the downed trees from Elk Rapids down to TC. Amazing!Pixl wrote:Traverse City Tart bike trail. You are behind the dry cleaners on Holiday Rd.

I was just about to edit my answer because I couldn't account for the pole with transformer in your picture. I recognize the other boardwalk in the area now.
