Acrid smoke shrouded Sherwood, Oregon on Monday evening as an infrequently used train trestle quickly burned along with the wetlands underneath, a Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue spokeswoman said.
"There was no way of saving that trestle," Ulven said. "It burned too rapidly."
About 50 firefighters responded to the two-alarm fire, Ulven said. They withdrew from the collapse area and set up a staging area near Northstar Chemical, a chemical distribution company at 14200 S.W. Tualatin-Sherwood Road.

What a shame. That trestle kind of reminds me of the one from Back to Future III
