CSX GRE Train Location Update 12-20-07
Only 1 crewman at the GRE - 371 airtest?. No NS pickup or delivery, CSX made the pickup but I don't thinlk delivered anything. The usual Amtrak.

As of 8:45am, heard this going on during my drive to work...
Inspector Shelnor had the track out near Elmdale.
P37120 was clearing down at Helper
D700 was waiting at Grand Junction for P37120 to go by, and would make a run on Grand Rapids. Dispatcher was going to hold D80120(lite power as Tim mentioned) at E Saugatuck, then head down to Wells to get a coal drag... D80220 wasn't onboard yet at Wells, but should be soon.
This combined with good sunlight and fog, my exact thoughts about being at work instead, "ARGHHH."

What the...??? I wonder if they ran out of time last night waiting for D801 to come up the hill with the 2nd load of coal. Hmmm...Tlout wrote:Y121-20 clear at the dock track - 9:23 AM.

Sounds like there is a coal train heading north in the Roost Block.
Just heard D801-20 call clear at mp 27 11:50 AM heading east...
11:56 - D801 called clear Holland depot - main to the siding.
D801 is talking to Y121 now about going into the yard at Waverly.

The airtest *can* be done with one person, mind you it becomes a more lengthy process...Raildudes dad wrote:Only 1 crewman at the GRE - 371 airtest?. No NS pickup or delivery, CSX made the pickup but I don't thinlk delivered anything. The usual Amtrak.

I have a couple old ancient Radio Shack 10 channel jobs - a Pro-41 and a Pro-49. They work well and I'm sure you could get one of these models used from eBay dirt cheap. A couple years ago I bought an upgrade - a used Radio Shack Pro-83 200 channel compact little job for 50.00 - works fine.odave wrote:Please help the scanner-challenged, what train was SB through Holly at ~15:50 with CSX 7879 leading? Sure was long.
I'll have to try to squeeze a scanner out of the budget somewhere. Is there a low cost model that's decent?
I think Radio Shack has a Pro-84 for around 70.00 new.
