Would there be a lot of traffic in Detroit (or on any line) on Dec 26th?

Probably not much more than usual, but yes by then Christmas break will be over.

Most railroads will anull trains between the mid-to-late afternoon on the 24th and resume operations in the evening on the 25th. Especially by late on the 26th, expect things running more or less normal, but of course it will be a weekend.

Sounds like a great opportunity for you to go out and report back to us.

More than likely you'll see more if you go out than if you stay home. You may even get lucky and see something rare.

CSX 1303 (NRE 3GS21B)
Kansas City Southern 4013 (SD70ACe)
