Re: CN Updates August 2016
CN 9524, 514 coming back north from Pontiac turned at Durand & headed to Flint at 04:59
CN 2684 west (no ID, but 149 seems likely) has an approach at Vernon at 6:45
Met CN 8946 east (probably 348) at 6:55
Amtrak 365 arrived Durand at 8:04.
I believe that is everything that ran through Durand overnight.

UHH OH, I sure hope EJ&E 667 didn't leave on a train that goes to like South Bend or Gary!! I hope it's still in between Flint and Pontiac, or better.... I hope it replaced Lansings Switcher, CN 9671!!!Dan Cluley wrote:CN 9524, 514 coming back north from Pontiac turned at Durand & headed to Flint at 04:59

Ok guys, I'm asking for the BIGGEST favor from
Wabash1070
Robertrains
Strugglin
kc8bdr
Detroitbench &
MtClemensRailFan. I'm asking for a "Team up"! I want you guys to help me find EJ&E SD38-2s #667 & #656. I'm not gonna play stupid anymore with these 2!! I was dumb enough to play that with 669 and didn't see it (669 is in Joliet last I heard). Last place I heard 667 was in Holly, MI on a local and 656 last I heard was in Flat Rock, MI (to give you guys pointers to where they are^^^) Now, when you guys see any of the 2 locos, name the Train ID, name the town it went through, and put the direction of the train (North, South, East, West). I know you guys have been pros and have most likely have seen 667 quite frequently, I wanna be one of you guys and say that I've seen 667 and 656 (I have seen the 656, but I wanna see it 1 last time), so good luck finding them and let me know when you see them
Thanks!!!,

Lite Power Moves on Holly Sub:
I have been seeing between 4 and 7 am the last two days a lite GP38 heading north on the Holly by my house on the way to Pontiac. I presume it is coming back from working Moterm Yard overnight? Didn't catch him going south either day.
At 3:00 pm today a lite NS unit mu'ed with a BNSF unit drifted by my house toward Pontiac. It was not 451 as that went by earlier. Maybe that BNSF train's power mentioned in an earlier post heading onto the Holly last night? Maybe an extra 119 doublestack with power coming back from Moterm to Pontiac? Didn't see any southbound with this power this morning.
A number of track repair equipment headed south out of Pontiac around 9 am this morning.
Lastly, yesterday a CN police car turned off Opdyke Road in Bloomfield Hills at the tracks around 9 am and followed the railroad access path along the west side of the Holly Sub heading south. I have never seen a cop car do this before at this location.

I am guessing EJ&E SD38-2 #667 is this loco! Maybe they are taking it back to the "J" tracks where it belongs!!!!
I am so "Happy" I got it (3 times) while it was here in Michigan!!!!

Re: CN Updates August 2016
Yep I knew this would happen, I totally prepared for this, I knew I would t see this EJ&E unit, and who ever knows when I'll see another one up here in Michigan. I thought Canadian National was better than this.. I really did, now I curse this railroad for buying the EJ&E railway, and I will curse this railway till CN is awesome enough to bring one up to Lansing IN EJ&E paint and do the switching jobs at Cory yard, and if that happens, I hope I see this loco MORE THAN ONCE!!!! Now I'm starting to have doubts with CN, I can't believe they'd do this. I hope I see a EJ&E painted loco again, I hope I see more than 1, until next time future EJ&E unitDan Cluley wrote:Couldn't get the number (sorry), but one of the EJ&E engines was the 3rd unit on a westbound through East Lansing at 00:15

Re: CN Updates August 2016
All I wanted was to have a great summer of Railfanning and to see a bunch of cool stuff. I've only seen 3 EJ&E units this year and the were EJ&E 656, EJ&E 662, and EJ&E 672 I also saw a rare loco on 393 back in May, it was QNS&L 314 (Quebec, North Shore & Labrador) that was cool, I just wish I couldve seen more cool things this summer like more EJ&E, GTW, QNS&L, BLE, and maybe a DMIR. Now going back to school next week thinking about all of this, is gonna be hard, I wish CN was better about bringing more cool stuff on the Flint sub..... All you guys I asked to help me find the loco, disregard that since they're all gone.SD70ACe Fan wrote:Yep I knew this would happen, I totally prepared for this, I knew I would t see this EJ&E unit, and who ever knows when I'll see another one up here in Michigan.
