GLC 391 & 389
How come GLC hasn't ran GLC 391 & GLC 389 "GLC/TSBY Patch" in a long time, they've just been sitting up in Owosso for the longest time. If anyone has info on these 2 engines, let me know.
Thanks,

Re: GLC 391 & 389
I believe both have mechanical issues that keep them out of service. They'd probably get them running again if traffic demands it.

Re: GLC 391 & 389
and I also know that GLC 394 "GLC patch- TSBY Paint" has had a NUMBER of troubles with its front set of trucks. Now I visited the house in Owosso last year and saw a new truck set for 394, but idk what they've done with them since. I hope all 3 will make their ways away from Owosso in the near future!!SD80MAC wrote:I believe both have mechanical issues that keep them out of service. All the engines are needed but keeping the currently operating engines serviced, operating, and chasing their issues are priority.
389 has generator and electrical issues.

Five GP38-2's (395-399) and handful of original GP35's in the 385-394 series (386, 387 & 388 are scrapped).

Osmer to Yuma is around 200 miles. Cadillac to Petoskey is 90ish. Walton Jct. to Traverse City/Grawn & Williamsburg is 46ish. Couple branches to Oakley and Middleton are around 12 miles each.
When the sand was flowing from Yuma they were around 10,000 cars annually. Even though the sand is gone I think they're higher now. 14,000 a year or something like that perhaps.

5 GP38-2s (395-399), 9 GP35s (385, 389-394, of which I think 4 are currently active. Also includes parts engines 2648 and 2681), NW2 #1977 (out of service) and GE 25 Tonner #1226.
