Here's a question.... I've seen AA boxcars with the "return when empty to Frankfort Mi." on them but what about other roads cars.... do they just get sent back to the nearest terminal of that road?

I think there are routing instructions on the paper work but that's just a guess

Not 100 percent sure, but believe headed north out of Cadillac around 0920. Heard them move from Selma Yard to North Yard then, haven't heard them since.

I'm sitting at Bob Evans having breakfast (slow start day) and watching for them.
EDIT: never saw them go by, and no sand flange marks at Holiday rd. on the way home. Hmmnn..

They went to Kalkaska on Wednesday- switched Selma yard, and then switched the propane ? Dealer at the end of the former PRR yard behind the old shell gas station, and then proceeded to Walton Jct, picked up some more cars, and then went up to Kalkaska and switched that out- started heading south around 1230 ish ? Power was 393 and 394 ? with 393 leading north bound.
Keep on truckin........By Train!!!

Thanks for posting that. Now I know why I didn't see them in TC. Sure would be a good photo op to see 393 up here. Maybe next run.RailsandTrucks wrote:They went to Kalkaska on Wednesday, picked up some more cars, and then went up to Kalkaska and switched that out- started heading south around 1230 ish ? That may well have been one of Blair EMS ambulances that has a train horn. "K5" something with an "A" in the horn model.

Wow a missed opportunity! Nice picture, but where was it taken. I don't quite recognize it as the Amerhart yard, at least from that angle. I usually see it from the adjacent bike path. thanks.KC wrote: 393-392 made it up on the 18th for run to Amerhart.

That pic location should look very familiar, it's passing the depot in TC.
FYI, there are 2 center beam cars at Amerhart now so watch for 393 next week!

Just as I said above- it is indeed the TC depot, no question.

Yes that looks right. I only don't remember the solar panels on the roof. Seems a crime on a historic building that will power little to nothing, but makes some people "FEEL" good.AARR wrote:I think that's Traverse City station
Re: Great Lakes Central Updates November 2016
Traverse City depot, another view:
Re: Great Lakes Central Updates November 2016
Those solar panels have been on the covered walkway (not the actual depot building itself) for 7+ years.

Great Lakes Central southbound through Mount Pleasant just before 3:00pm with 3 locos and 42 cars. I was not close enough to get numbers, or a consist breakdown
