This is not as exciting as finding a drone but around 20 years ago, the company I worked for was surveying a large parcel of land along the NS tracks near Bellville. I was hoping a train would come and as I looked down the line I could see a pile of debris in between the rails. I walked down to it only to find that it was a circular pile of 20 or more severed dogs heads! My boss took photos and notified the police. I have no idea what evil someone was up to but I wish I could forget that one.

GTW unloaded refrigerator cars on a team track on what is now operated by DCON. The cars brought in loads of produce (mostly potatoes IIRC). But apparently a few also brought in sheep carcasses as I found one along team track. A GTW employee told me the sheep were for the Greek Restaurants and had originated over seas (New Zealand IIRC) and while unloading must have dropped the carcass and forgot to pick it up.
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

Gee all I find is spikes, discarded train sheets and crew water bottles.
Although I knew a few farmers who had fields near NS tracks in the 90's when NS decided bags were cheaper then chemical toilets, who found many of those bags tossed to the weeds.
After a few complaints Trainmasters had to count bags before and after a crews run. And you think your job sucks.

I remember those days. They wanted us to sign for them so they could keep track of them for some reason. ( union was worried the the NS was going to DNA type people .) The ones that did get used got turned inside out before use ! I would hate to be the trainmaster that had to look for the tag . Those engines were from down south and those crews were just excited to see indoor plumbing.SousaKerry wrote:Gee all I find is spikes, discarded train sheets and crew water bottles.

All you had to do back then was bring your own plastic bag, let the weed weasels try and track that down!
I used to get paid for doing what all of you like to watch!

I have not found anything that exciting. So ... was there a registration tag on the drone or was it flown illegally?M.D.Bentley wrote:Over the years I have found stuff/items/things that were lost/abandoned/left behind. No registration numbers, nothing. My guess it was a xmas present that was one and done. Bye bye. Clean too. Guy at Nankins said it is worth between $300.00 and $400.00 just they way it is. Still unable to locate the owner .justalurker66 wrote:I have not found anything that exciting. Do those things use a universal controller, or is each one different? Maybe you can just buy a controller and use it.

I remember my first year at CPMY, I was taking pictures of the Bunny Train for promotional stuffs, and found the missing radiator cap for 3049.
According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

Amazin. My runaway drone got all the way to Michigan on its batteries.
Please have the next vacationer to Florida bring it down with him/her.
I also lost a lot of other stuff last time up there. Just send all of the good stuff you find.
I will be so grateful.
Thank you, thank you.

I found a $20 on the Riverwalk in Ft Lauderdale, a month ago.
Extenuating circumstances have forced me to relocate my train watching activities to the Florida East Coast, in Ft Lauderdale area.
