ATCS - CN Flint & Holly Subdivision....(Public Release)
Everyone,
It is now on-line for your downloading enjoyment. I will be adding a "how to" to the next kit release. Check it out and let me know what you think. Just a note Durand "ONLY" sends out what changes so if you start it in the middle of something going though the plant it wont look right.

Click on the "ATCS Feeds" / CN ATCS MI
If there are any questions please post them on the Audio board on the rraudio site.
Everything is working from Bancroft to E Lapeer and south down the holly to South Gains..

Thanks, it has been a lot of work getting to this point. I am looking forward to when you will be able to see things coming out of the tunnel at Port Huron...
I am currently looking for a reciver site in the Battle Creek Area:
You must be close to the Main Line and able to install an Antena 40ft plus in the air....
I am working on the "how to" document to help you once you have the program...

Your welcome my friend....
Known issue:
1. When a train passes a Green the opposing signal will turn green this is a correct from the field. They will go red after the, train takes the plant and the block fallowing. I am going to put some scripts in version 2.10 that will fix these issues at all control points.
Just a few notes to all:
I am going to be adding some fun toys if you want to call them that. As in "plant in time" and other fun things.
(Curently in Ver2.08 and being tested)
I hope to release it to my beta testers latter this week.
I hope to release Ver 2.08 in the next two weeks.

A quick- how to--
Note: Does not work well with vista operating systems.
1. Download atcs program from the yahoo site and install.
2. You should now see an atcs mon icon on your desk top.
3. Download the "Kit" from the Railroad Audio Streams from Southern Michigan web site.
4. Unzip the downloaded "kit". You should see 3 folders once unzipped.
5. You now have to place the 3 files from the kit into the ATCS root program. to do this go to my computer, C drive , program files, atcsmon and open the folder. In there, you should see multiple folders. You must cut the and paste the 3 files, unzipped from the kit. The .lay file must go into the file folder called "layouts". the folder .mcp file must go into the folder marked "mcp". The ini or file with the sprocket unzipped from the "Kit" must be cut and pasted anywhere in the atcs monitor file folder.
6. Close out of all programs. Get to your desktop icon atcs mon and click on it.(open the program).
7. Go to configure, mcp information. Click on import.Find the file labled CN-Flint-Holly ver # and click on that file. You should now see a bargraph going crazy. When it finishes close out of all programs.
8. Restart atcs mon from the desktop. Go to configure, options, display. See the layout file? Click on browse. Find the file CN-Flint-Holly and click on it, and click on open. Click on apply.
9. Click on file, load profile and then finally CN-Flint-Holly.
10. You should now see data streaming rapidly. Go to the top, click view, click dispatchers display.
11. Enjoy!!!!!

Got it working at home Mike..had to uninstall the old version of ATCS on my home PC, but this newer 2.07 is working great. Also got it installed on a Vista laptop, so no issues there. I see a train nearing Pitt, and one out at Flint...fun stuff this is.
Can't seem to get the playlist for winamp to work for the durand feed, but windows media player is working.

As soon as I get approved for memebership... What's the reason for having to join a Yahoo! group, go through all the registration and sending emails to download a file?
Do you guys need help hosting the site/file? I can help with that...

Interesting, well I got accepted, yeay.
So this is interesting, I followed your guide, everything seems to be working, although by messing around, I assume I just havn't gotten enough information on Flint and Holly to set the signals in the dispatcher screen. Thanks!
Oh, btw, for anyone trying this, make this program an exception in WindowBlinds, the title bar likes to dissapear after opening it again from tray.
Do you know if the Grand Rapids area has converted to digital at all (CSX and NS)?

Mike et All,
From Seymour CH 148.1 to Lake Odessa, is all wireless code line. I'm still working on securing a low cost radio to decode it, but I hope to have something up 6 months or so after I get started.... Also West Wye, and North Wye in waverly are wireless code as well... There will be more coming on line down near Grand Jct. I didn't check all the signals when i was down there over Christmas, but summer will yield a good chance for decoding.
The reason for joining the yahoo group is that after 9-11 the group was inundated with questions as to weither or not the group could be aiding terrorists etc. so membership is an attempt to control the spread of the program and to ensure 'quality' users. The group is still nervous about life feeds directly to the internet with screen shots and the like.
Anyone is welcome to hit me up with questions about this wonderful technology.
Oh also, the Amtrak line with its ITCS piggybacks off the ATCS protocol.

this is great
Followed your instructions and everything seems to be working, tomorrow I am going to have to get a map out to help me understand what I am looking at here. Looking forward to the arrival of this tech. on the west side of the State.
I think Holly might be out of range of the stations they have up right now. As they bring more stations on line, the reach will get farther.mikerm19 wrote:...I assume I just havn't gotten enough information on Flint and Holly to set the signals in the dispatcher screen.
How close to the main line do you need to be? My house is about 2.5 miles SW, between Linden and Fenton.
