I photographed both of these trains at Durand with "Railfan Dalton!!!!" I got theCN "SantaTrain" passing the station from the west side of the tracks where it connects to the Flint Sub. Now, I've been going to Durand since April 16/17, 1993! I was 9 back then! I also saw the new ATCS display for us "Railfans" and met (again) "Great Lakes Railfan!!!!" Now at Durand it looks like we won't miss a train without knowing anymore!!!! I did not catch the locomotive numbers of eastbound train (#396?)!!!! Does anyone know what they were? The engines were "Standard" CN SD70M-2/GE "Widecabs." It had 77 cars with the "DPU" being a CN SD70M-2 (my first time catching one like this at Durand)! This day "Railfan Dalton" and I also followed PM 2-8-4 "Berkshire" #1225 and their "PolarExpress™"train of 14 passenger cars, three cabooses and GLC GP38-2 #398!!!! WOW I got awesome pix of that train at night in the snow!!!! This was SRI's last train of the year too!!!!
Here's a picture my Dad (RCJ I) took during our "First" time at Durand, 4-17-1993 (Canon® 35mm S.L.R.):
Here's the "Railfan Meet 2011," 5-21-2011 showing me (I have beard now) at lower right (Mom (Susan)) photographed me with my Mamiya medium format film camera):
Not all of the power on that massive eastbound were widecabs. CN 2022 was 3rd of the 5. The DPU was 8895. I'll check my pictures later and update this post with the rest of the numbers.
It was great to see you again Robert. It's good to see you guys were able to catch the last 1225 run as well.
EDIT: Power on the eastbound was:
CN 2872 f
CN 5664 f
CN 2022 r
IC 2720 r
CN 8833 r
DPU:
CN 8895 r

At 6:40 am SB Train 116 past MP 22.5. Just a few mixed freight cars on the head end and a short train. Three locomotives, the middle is CP 6248, an uncommon Canadian visitor on CN trains (maybe only like the fifth or sixth time I have seen one go by my house in the 29 years I have lived here and watched trains).

Thanx GreatLakesRailfan!!!! OK, the train was going fast and I didn't notice the C-40-8! I had a great time, but didn't have time to wait for the westbound! We saw 1225 in Owosso shortly after leaving at 4 p.m.! Stupidly my camera was "Locked" so I didn't get the train good there! At least there'll beanother year to get PM 1225 in snow!!!!

Train 451/503 NB past MP 22.5 at 1:30 with three locomotives (a Citi lease unit, a BNSF and a UP) and a very short train. There were two 280-type all autorack trains yesterday and I suspect that the BNSF and the UP units were off of each of those.
Train 451 NB past MP 22.5 on the Holly at 1:28 pm really working hard. That IC 1033 that came in this morning on 116 is the trailing unit so quick turn-around of power today.
Looks like a really late 116 by 205 at 0900. 3 units the last of which is a cowl unit. A hand full of mixed freight on the head end and a lot of intermodal. Near the middle of the train was 2 wells with 10' containers on the bottom. 2 sets of 2 just behind some single stack tanks. I've never noticed those on a train before so I thought it was worth noting. I didn't realize fast enough what they were to read the name so I could look the company up. 518 axles
391 cleared the detector MP 34.2 northbound at 10:35 PM
CN ?801 (I believe it was 3801)
I did hear some of mark up, there was Reference to a trailing engine # 1027 I am guessing that to be an IC unit.
