East Bridge Junction in Metairie is the New Orleans equivalent of "Delray" in Detroit in every way that counts; active tower, all railroads in the city converge, most trains in single location in the city if not in the state, near a RR bridge over a river, under a highway, bisected by a side street, in a rough looking but realistically safe neighborhood.

Great series of shots. People love to say Chicago is the only place to see any serious variety but I think you've proven NOLA to be another worthy destination!
I was not familiar with East Bridge Jct. Looks like a pretty cool setup. What railroad operates the tower?
Those cruddy looking gray GE units on UP aren't even slugs....they're just like the drones formerly of CSXT - just remote control receivers which can MU to powered locomotives. Weird to see an SD70M switching like that!
What, no photos of the St. Charles line streetcars??

Re: New Orleans area - 12.30.17
Most Mid-America cities along the Mississippi River have the variety of all of the Class 1s RRs. While CP has no trackage in the south, New Orleans happens to also have KCS.
The New Orleans Public Belt RR, the shortline of New Orleans operates the tower.
Streetcars are not special to Detroiters anymore with the Q Line and dont count as real trains

Nice catch with the Abrams. Those appear to be brand new version threes.
Old EMD’s are the gift that keeps on giving.
