General ATCS question.... (Screen resolution)
Everyone,
I am starting to work on the layout file to cover everything from Lansing to Port Huron. As of right now they will be the next locations that we bring on-line in the coming weeks. That being said I am going to be releasing a Wide Screen version and a standard screen version of the layout files. I want to make a layout file that works in general for the group. What I need to know is what resolution does everyone use?
If you Don't know here is how you find out:
(WinXP & Win2000)
1. Right click on your desktop (were there are no icons.
2. Click properties.
3. Click the settings tab on the top.
4. Look in the middle left and you will see Screen resolution.
Thanks for all the feed back there are an average of 15+ people on it everynight. Who cares if CN does not call signals we have ATCS!!!!!!

If you put Google Analytics on http://rraudio.sbmrail.com (assuming that is where people go to get the program), it will tell you what operating system, browser, connection speed, and screen resolution your visitors have (plus a lot of other stuff). Granted, visitors to your site may not all use your software, but it will give a good breakdown of what most people are using.
It is free, and just involves signing up, and then pasting a small bit of javascript into your HTML right before the closing body tag. That will tell Google to keep tabs on it for you.
Even if a survey works better for this purpose, it is something that is interesting to have on a site.

I'm running 1280 x 800 on my laptop, with 1280 x 960 on the monitor next to it..believe I have 1280 x somethin at home, so that be what I vote for.

Mike..the metropolis of Emmett dosent have a lot of tall structures..here is a few sugestions for the tower..the Church , the elevator, or the cell tower by the freeway.

Everything your need is at:

Under ATCS...
As for the Emmett location, the person that is going to allow us to set up a site is less then .5 miles from the CN Main-Line.

Seriously? Most people use 1024x768? This site is designed with 1280 pixel wide in mind.... I assume lots of people have to scroll left and right while viewing the gallery?

Believe me, if I didn't have the piece of crap laptop I have now, I would have 1280x1024. I miss my desktop.Mike wrote:Yes they can, I would more then likely scroll left to right....Can the layouts scroll?

Whatever the resolution, great job Mike on the ATCS. Definitely looking forward to the rest of the system being completed. I do have one question though about the layout. What do the symbols that look like snowflakes on the layout stand for? I haven't been on the site very long and not quite up to speed on all the lingo and symbols yet.

Holly site = no home
The location I had desided not to do it, they were not railroaders... So I am still looking for a location.... As for how far it will go to the south it will all depend on how high up in the air we can get. I will not do an install unless I can hear at least 4 control points with the radio...
As for the Port Huron location. We did a site servay at Emmet and it did not turn out good we need a site that is 50 + ft high and around the Richmon area. Any one out there want to help find a site or host it please let me know via PM...
As for the shaftys they will be fixed as soon as the weather breaks so we can install the tower at the Durand site....
