NYC-PM connection
Anything using the newer NYC-PM connection these days that was built to better handle the CP traffic to CSX, since all their traffic is now on NS? Has CSX ever given thought to running their Canadian interchange traffic in one train directly to Toledo or GR, bypassing Rougemere altogether? JG
Re: NYC-PM connection
I think you're referring to CP Lou on CR Shared Assets along John Kronk. About the only regular use of this would be the CP jobs that run to the CP intermodal site which uses a leased portion of CSX's Oak Yard along I-96. Other than that, someone else might know of something else.

Re: NYC-PM connection
I think a couple of CR locals use it to access a pair of branch lines off CSX

Q131, Q132, Q150, Q151 use the connection almost daily. Q150 & Q151 use the connection to pickup & setoff at Oak yard!

Which train would that be? As of July, it was CP running T-21/T-20 from Windsor to Rougemere and back.jggilmore7 wrote:Has CSX ever given thought to running their Canadian interchange traffic in one train directly to Toledo or GR, bypassing Rougemere altogether? JG

The connection is currently regularly used by Q150, Q151, CP 234 and 235, and Conrail local jobs from Livernois Yard that work the Highland Park Industrial Track and the remnant of the Terminal West, where Dearborn Steel is.

Correction: Q150 & Q151 are the only CSX intermodals that regularly use the connection. Q131 & Q132 actually almost regularly use the Lincoln Secondary, which doesn't even enter the city of Dearborn (instead it heads southweast through Melvindale, Lincoln Park, Southgate, Taylor and beyond), to get between Detroit and Carleton.C&OGP75745 wrote:Q131, Q132, Q150, Q151 use the connection almost daily.
