Sorry David, I was half awake when I posted both of those trains. The one by here was 712, putting the train away in snow from what i can see. I miss that traffic as well, it was some neat variety. I still remember when 712 was 706 and always came with UP power.David Lang wrote:Thanks Jason for the heads up on 764.
If I'm not mistaken, 764 is set off at Durand for a trip to Essexville. I thought CSX had the contract right now through Flint.
Oh well, we will take it right?
With all this 90+ degree heat, the power plants are probably needing the coal - those that still use coal by the way.
I have been watching the Elkhart Indiana Railfan webcam lately and there were 3 loaded coal trains EB alone thru Elkhart. Looking at the NS train symbols, some of them go to Toledo, then North on CN to Monroe. These trains used to run the CN to Durand, then South on the Holly to the Shoreline sub several years ago but I now they run NS to Toledo then North. Living very close to the Holly Sub I wish the coal train were still running. The Holly Sub has the capacity, but I understand the current routing. I think the numbers were 760, 761, 762, and 763.
