I'm assuming this was D705 that was re-crewed at some point during his travels. Heard at Plaster Creek around 7:30am
D705 had 107 cars out of Detroit last night with the usual 3203+751 set of power and was by Howell at 23:45. At least 75 cars were loaded stone and rip rap cars. D905 went west by Howell at 03:25. It had 602 axels over the DD At MP 64.0. This would equate to 149 cars if he had just one unit, 146 cars if he had three six axel units, or 148 cars if it had one six axel and one four axel All I knew was CSX 415 was leading. Perhaps your 80 cars Tom was 79 cars and it was the one six and one four axel combination. Was surprised it had only 80 or 79 cars left which would have meant a large Lansing set off.
Thank you BL2-1843. So, I'm now assuming D705 is still out there somewhere & headed for Grand Rapids? His on duty time must be close to expiring, if, that hasn't already happened.
D705 was ahead of D905 by several hours.

Don't know if there was some long delay for this to be tagged into the scanner archives, or was he delayed for some reason. Typically, the travel time between these 2 DD sites is about 45 minutes.
Corrections after seeing an updated report: D706 had CSX engines #751 + #3403 + #5432 + #415. That would make for 150 cars.

Probably that D707 mentioned that was at Lake Odessa around that timeframe. Lake O is between the MP126 and MP104 areas, so guessing D707 got in the way of D706.

I caught them at 131st Street below New Richmond. CSXT 5293 leading. Fall colors are just starting to pop. Got a friendly wave from the conductor. A good start to the week!
Got lucky and caught Z151 SB in Comstock Park by sheer luck. Only about 15-20 of the short covered hoppers with them today. 4 units in total with a GP38 in the middle.
