Yup, just heard something in Brighton, my scanner is picking up something but nowhere near clear enough to hear.
I would also guess D705 given the westbound direction. I'm at my house which is about a mile from the tracks, this is what I get for thinking "there's not gonna be a train this morning" and CantBeShook mentioned D705-17 in Plymouth earlier.
Does this mean they are leaving Lansing, going east at 12:00 noon?
If so, they usually work Howell between 16:00 and 19:00, what do they do between Lansing and Howell in the meantime?
There aren't many industries in that area, is all that time dedicated to the plastics place in Howell/McPherson Industrial Park?
D70517 by Howell at 09:37 with 172 cars, same amount as the last D705. CSX 3394+3310 on the head end. GLC Z62417 came out onto CSX right behind them with 74 cars to put into the Howell pass which consisted of 24 three bay hoppers, 24 tie cars, 21 tank and five lumber, one of which was loaded. GLC 396+382 was the power today.

Noon is presumably their on duty time, then they have to put their train together and head east. When they actually leave to head east varies on how much they have to do to get their train together.

No, that means the crew goes on duty at noon. They build their train and switch out the yard. They can also work Rhetec, Excelda, American Chemical and Asahi in Fowlerville, along with Ogihara in Howell before making it to the GLC interchange. They also occasionally run to South Lyon to switch Portec and Peaker Services.
