Plowing the 2"-4" of snow we have on the ground in TC, LOL.GLC_391 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 9:15 pmI have a feeling there coming to Traverse City tomorrow. Wednesday night there was a truck crew in tc plowing the crossings. The crew brought 3 gons to beacon around 12 am to tc last Friday. Seen the cars there the other day. The gons at Beacon Recycling are ready for pickup I think.

More likely cleaning the flangeway at the crossings. Packed ice and snow in there can and does derail trains.

Didn't they derail one up there last year? Or get it stuck in the snow on a crossing. I vaguely remember pictures of it being posted. Maybe its been longer than that

GLC heading south at Durand at 10:01 with 90 cars. Engines 383, 384, 395, 395. Looks like an empty Potash train.

Thanks for the heads up. Saw your post 30 minutes later, so walked the eight blocks to the Howell depot to see it and sill had a 45 minute wait before it showed up. Finally got to see 384 in person and to check to see if it has the same type of cool sounding horn that is on 383 and it does. By the looks of 384 being so clean, must be one of its first working trips. Darn shame GLC could not have re-lettered and renumbered 384 identical to 383 to have a pair of twins. Or, did 383 like the 384 to start with. Five cars of fans watching it go south including one fellow with a drone who was following it from Durand. Counted 89 cars and could have been no later than 11:35 when the tail end when by the Howell depot. Trailing unit was 396.

CSX to GLC to HESR to Sargents. Used to go CSX to LSRC to HESR but a year or two ago changed routing.

I agree Bob. I’m not sure why they don’t paint two units the same scheme?BL2-1843 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 12:01 pmThanks for the heads up. At mcbain switching viking at 1000. 398 & 393. 2 pole loads and an empty beam on the head end. Seems weird that they switch biewer sb when to my knowledge the siding peals off to the south. I'm sure they have a reason. Nothing at biewer to pick up
