Great Lakes Central Updates - April 2021
Great Lakes Central Updates - April 2021
MiTrain arrived into the TC station at 7:47am, a few minutes late. GLC 383 and 384 were leading the MiTrain unit do to issues with that unit. 13 bi-level coaches, looked like about 245 people got off. I was confident this train idea to TC would never happen (I also doubted that the new GLC container transload that opened today in Grawn would not have happened), but I guess I was proved wrong! Cool that these both started up today APRIL 1st. A-P-R-I-L 1st. Wonder what day that is....

Thanks for the video. Looks like they're still using spacer cars for the bridge.

Isn't that bridge supposed to be getting replaced this year?
Re: Great Lakes Central Updates - April 2021
There was some of those spacer cars sitting at Walton there was a rumor that the bridge is getting replaced this year
Re: Great Lakes Central Updates - April 2021

Michigan DOT awarded contracts for design and construction of the new bridge. Tentative schedule is for construction to begin January 3, 2022 and be completed November 22, 2022.

Doesn't look like there'll be anymore snow mounds to video from this year
The first white tank car looks like it might have come from Renosol in Farwell.
After switching in McBain it looks like they might have placed cars in blocks for points beyond Owosso so they won't have to be switched again in Owosso Yard.

Did you see what they had for cars? Or just the engines?

2 loaded cars, likely headed to beacon.
Consistently confused
Re: Great Lakes Central Updates - April 2021
Loaded cars would not be for Beacon. Were they lumber center beam loads for Amerhart? Or empty gondolas for Beacon?

Re: Great Lakes Central Updates - April 2021
I'm getting secondhand reports on the train, all I got was that there were two cars behind the engines with "stuff in them". It's my Grandmother giving me the reports, so all I'm sure of is that there's 2 engines (398 and 399) and 2 cars with "stuff".
Consistently confused
Re: Great Lakes Central Updates - April 2021
Thanks! I'll go with center beams of lumber then. You can easily see "stuff" with center beams.
