Saw the coils sitting on the ground and wondered...then read the caption identifying the customer.

Great pictures and report CRD. I've wondered what local activity goes on around Monroe and you captured it.
Were all 80 of the cars set out in Monroe over the weekend for local customers? If so besides Galvanized and Spartan who else does NS service from their Monroe local base?

Although could be shared with CN, the hoppers that are being loaded on the old Gerdau Spur and Thompson Mccully could be two more, as well as the actual Port of Monroe.AARR wrote: ↑Thu May 20, 2021 7:06 amGreat pictures and report CRD. Some of the 80 cars set out could be for Toledo. Word is the night crew at Monroe runs to Airline Yard in Toledo and back.

The Port of Monroe loads synthetic gypsum from the power plant into hoppers. In the past, they've gotten natural gas pipes by rail. The port has also used NS to move heavy lift cargo unloaded from ships.
What ConrailDetroit calls Thompson Mccully is actually Michigan Paving and Materials.
Ventower is the industry that manufactures wind turbine parts. I believe they're served by CN as well.
