Re: Where Is It?
That clue helped. It looks like Detroit, Terminal East between Erwin Ave. and French Rd.

Re: Where Is It?
Indeed, the former Detroit Terminal RR, now Conrail SAA Terminal East branch, looking east. Grinnell Street (first street south of the track) can be seen on the right and French Road in the distance. And the Detroit City Airport can be seen on the left out of view.

Being summer and all that, here is one that shouldn't tax the old brain cells of anyone living within 200 miles of the location
Hint: it's not BO Tower

Re: Where Is It?
To think that I used to sit in a car in the darkest wee hours and take in the action without being armed. Ah, the good old days. Anybody remember the late Bob Russell who occasionally worked 3rd trick there decades ago? Stories you can't dare tell on this family site...

Haven't been there in a really long time.
One day, during daylight, they were stripping a car down the street, on the street.

Re: Where Is It?
At one time, Delray was busy enough to warrant two operators on each shift. In the early 70's, the second operators were eliminated. I was working at Carleton 3rd trick at that time. One night I went in and there was a note that I had been bumped by one of the displaced operators. Attached to it was another note saying the bump was canceled. Heard whoever it was didn't want to drive that far. Worked for me!!

Re: Where Is It?
Is that stub track a new shortline, or sumthin ?
Re: Where Is It?
Definite shortline. Goes from one side of the road to the other.
Unless it's been removed since the Google mobile went through.

Re: Where Is It?
It's Detroit. Took me awhile to remember where some other rail overpasses were.

In Detroit.
This track sees plenty of Art Deco architecture on its overpasses and underpasses.

Re: Where Is It?
The road seems to be part of a tire testing facility.
