CSX Location Updates - Sept 2021
Re: CSX Location Updates - Sept 2021
Anyone know Y106 current ?
Re: CSX Location Updates - Sept 2021
D705 westbound through South Lyon.
Green Oak DD at CH39.1 said 682 axles and 10054 feet.
Didn’t hear any signals called, so didn’t get out in time to see the power. Dispatcher called them, asked what their length would be after Lansing. That’s the only time I heard the train symbol.

They do Alto first, all of their work is westbound. They run east to Elmdale, runaround their train then go west. So yes, if you're at Alto you missed them.

682 axles on D705 reported by sparrow24 at South Lyon turned out to be 166 cars. There was a red flag tucked in between the couplers around the 150th car. Power on the head end was 103+5105+5103. 3rd unit was another unit for Peaker. By Howell at 15:30 Did not even know the train was coming until he came by me while cutting grass in the back yard.

Axle math works out to be 3 engines with 166 cars. Are you using a hand held scanner or a base scanner?sparrow24 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 3:02 pmD705 westbound through South Lyon.

Hearing the RN dispatcher talk to D705-04, only hearing one side of the conversation from my radio here in South Lyon. Sounds like they're doing switching of some sort near Stark in Livonia.
The D705 that came through earlier must have been D705-03, but I never heard them clearly enough to know for sure.

D705-03 @ 19:03 westward reported by the DD mp CH126.3 with 472 axles. CSXT engines #103 + #5105 & 115 cars. He's going into Fox mp CH141.8 & tie down his train. Dispatcher had told him there's another 705 called & D705-03 asked the RN "isn't there a dead 705 in the north side pass?" Rn replied yes there is. I'm looking at the time table & wondering what is the North Side Pass?BL2-1843 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 3:43 pm682 axles on D705 reported by sparrow24 at South Lyon turned out to be 166 cars. D705-04 clear EE South Lyon at 8:12pm. CSXT 5371 + CSXT 5386 + CSXT 552 + 141 cars.
Green Oak DD at CH39.1 says 582 axles, 8553 feet.
Conversation with RN dispatcher sounds like they're only going as far as Lansing... everybody in that conversation sounded confused, though.

D705-04 just stopped their train in the siding at Trowbridge, so I assume it is getting parked there.
