Southbound just departed Pontiac. Just one engine instead of one at each end.

Re: Amtrak Train Location Updates - 2021
Was surprised to see trains 352/353 returning today. I remember the press release about the speed increases in July said these trains were suspended until Sept.30
352 leaves Chicago at 1:10 pm and arrives Pontiac 8:40 pm - 33 min slower than pre-COVID
353 leaves Pontiac at 9:05 am and arrives CHI at 2:32 pm - 22 min slower than pre-COVID

Re: Amtrak Train Location Updates - 2021
AFAIK all of the trains are running slower due to track work. I know they replaced rail in the Michigan City area already this year. Not sure if this work is routine stuff on the Amtrak side or capital improvements on the MDOT side. Either way the old timetable should return - especially since the track speeds have been raised east of Kalamazoo.twropr wrote: ↑Tue Sep 07, 2021 5:16 pmWas surprised to see trains 352/353 returning today. AMTK 62 and 69 are parked in Jackson. They have a baggage car and an Amfleet car in between. Apparently they have been running test trains all week.

Amtrak 49 running 3+ hours late out of Toledo due to engine troubles out of NYP and then a disabled train on the CSXT blocking Vickers. Midnight Blue P42 #100 leading the way.

Re: Amtrak Train Location Updates - 2021
P42 160 has been released from the Beech Grove paint booth as the last of the “Amtrak 50” units, sporting a slick adaptation of the “Pepsi-Can” factory livery found on the P32-8 fleet in the early and mid 1990s. Expect it to travel the system soon, except to Michigan, because we are stuck with Chargers for the next 20-some years! Lol

Re: Amtrak Train Location Updates - 2021
I have a new favorite paint scheme on the P42. I hate to think of what things could have been with Pepsi Can on those over Phase 5 the last few years. That being said, P42s are still awesome on Phase 3.GP30M4216 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 9:04 pmP42 160 has been released from the Beech Grove paint booth as the last of the “Amtrak 50” units, sporting a slick adaptation of the “Pepsi-Can” factory livery found on the P32-8 fleet in the early and mid 1990s.
