Wonder why the towers had all 3 phases hanging off to the one side.ConrailDetroit wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 10:06 amIn the 313......not Detroit..............the local usually has tanks, boxcars, covered hoppers......

S. Maple Street crossing the old spur to the lumber yard on the west side of S. Maple Street (not visible). This is looking south. toward the bridge over the Shiawassee River in Vermon, Shiawassee County.

This would be looking north on the Pennsylvania belt, later the Union Belt, from around Warren or Gould Street. I believe this would be in Dearborn.
I too wonder why all three phases are on one side of the tower.

Re: Where Is It?
Correct. I took this picture in the alley just off of Warren in Dearborn. Never personally seen a train here.Standard Railfan wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 9:30 pmThis would be looking north on the Pennsylvania belt, later the Union Belt, from around Warren or Gould Street. Good where be it Chip.
Here's an odd one. Able to be found via Google Maps satellite view. Compass is on there so trackage runs southwest to northeast. Where be this maze?

Able to find it without hints even, nice work.
Here's another to try on. ROW goes straight through this grassy section to the left of the sub-station. I want to say the tracks were there in the 80's.

Not in the 616. In a higher area code, like 810, 906, 947, or 989.

INER RR was formerly the old NYC RR that ran between Hillsdale and Fort Wayne. Passenger train srvice on that branch was discontinued many years ago.Standard Railfan wrote: ↑Tue Dec 28, 2021 2:33 pmIndiana Northeasten Railroad at Cross Roads Farm, West Card Road, Reading Michigan. Good one Z.

Was not part of PM's ROW, no. Was part of another large system. Shot is located in a city - not a township or village here.

Re: Where Is It?
Boom! Corunna it is. Located on Shiawassee St at the Veterans of Foreign Wars building. This is part of the Ann Arbor trackage that was eliminated as it was redundant with the nearby Grand Trunk trackage that GLC now has trackage rights on from HESR.
Neat map of HESR here: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewe ... 35995&z=10
Interesting that they have no customers really between Owosso and Durand, or between Durand and Saginaw.

I've glanced at this thread for a long time, no luck... this time I said "I KNOW THAT TANK!"
