Re: CN Train Location Updates - January 2022
356 taking Main 1 down to Johnson Ave at Pontiac at about 1422. Had a CN air pump car on the end. Pontiac is quite congested.
Re: CN Train Location Updates - January 2022
251 north Royal Oak at 1455. Large train. 75I, Gevo. Holding at MAL for Amtrak, 356 and 451 as all tracks in Pontiac are full.

“This train entered the South Bend Subdivision at Munster after running on the CSX Elsdon Subdivision.”
254 axles on a dd in Indiana at MP 93.3. Could very well change at BC.

Re: CN Train Location Updates - January 2022
E260’s crew was asked by Desk 10 if they were qualified to Flint and they responded yes so they will most likely continue on to Flint. Possibly a quick set off or pickup in Flint but otherwise they may run tonight, provided they get thru quick enough.LansingRailFan wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 7:23 pmE260 to Flint.LansingRailFan wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 5:37 pmNS 4000 (NS4K) is solo leading an empty rack train at Griffith, IN. Re: CN Train Location Updates - January 2022
Okay thanks for the info Lansing Railfan oh yea those units where struggling the train was down to about 10 mph over Blacks Corner Rd on the west side of Imlay there is a grade for westbounds there. But with 206 cars and only two units that's understandable.LansingRailFan wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 10:57 amThese WB potash trains are symbolled B731. They are usually 103 car blocks for a total of 206 cars and it seems like they have been running with a mid-DPU set up as the temps have dropped.penn central wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 10:48 pmDid anyone get the westbound unit potash train, I saw it when i was inside the Vlasic plant in Imlay City maybe headed to the HESR this was around 1800 hours it had two units one was a midtrain DPU two GE units one on the head end the other mid train, I know loaded potash normally comes out of western Canada but by the time the end of the train got by it was moving pretty slow like it was a loaded train there is a hill for westbounds on the west side of Imlay City.
B730 runs up and over the Great Lakes thru Canada and we get the empties run thru the US. In Canada they run them 2X2X2 loaded with 206 cars.
The siding at Imlay City is the only one that can fit these trains between PH and BC. I believe there are two between BC and Chicago that are long enough to fit these trains.
