On the evening of Sunday 6/12, CSX ran down the West Detroit Branch. For years the branch was worked during the day on Tuesdays and Fridays. Later, word was the branch was worked by the afternoon Oak Yard Job on the same days. With Coke now gone, it seems there are only 2 active customers left.
11 Loaded Scrap Gons were picked up from Kimmel Iron & Metal and 1 Hopper was dropped to the customer at Livernois and Joy Rd. Two of the gondolas were empty, returning with 13 total cars, all gondolas.
Nice, tcamp. What happened to Coke? Did they close? Did they get the Tate & Lyle tankers (corn syrup)?
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...

Between Linsdale and Livernois / Joy Rd, the customer that received the hopper. A Google search of businesses doesn't show something at the property that would seem to be rail serviced.
CRD, I really like your reports and pictures! Who is the second customer?

I have seen that hopper car at that spot but I also don’t know who it’s for

I read somewhere that the Grand Rapids plant still gets corn syrup by rail via the transload in Wyoming Yard i used to go to the Coke plant in Detroit all the time and pick up tanker loads of syrup right out of the tank cars that where spotted there and i would take it to the Coke plant in Flint when they still bottled Coke this was back in 1996.
