P364 east alas arrived to East Lansing Station at 22:01. IDTX #4614 front, 6 cabs with pretty much everyone (but not all) exiting the 2nd and 3rd and about 4 boarding after. IDTX #4604 at the end. Began to depart at 22:11.
Clear mp223 at 22:46. Crewman boarded from EL Station. I have been seeing what appears to be NB 507 passing my house just south of Pontiac before I have been seeing its SB counterpart 508 go by lately. Originally I thought they always met at Moterm and changed crews there so the crews could go back to their originating location when off duty. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe they are changing crews still but wherever they happen to meet on the Holly? Or maybe both crews take the same train all the way each day? 508 seems to be running much later than usual too.
SB 515 with 5323 passed MP 22.5 on the Holly at 7:30 am with a short train of all loaded centerbeams today.

At a fee of $300 per day, the Valleyfield container port is on the CSX line about a hundred kilometers from the Port's unloading docks, near the Ontario border, the CN terminal - formerly owned by the American company CSX - has an area of 3.8 million square feet. This “rescue container park” imposes a shuttle and gatehouse fee of $550 per container, (in addition to storage fees of $300 per day per container). The Montreal Port Authority (MPA) would like other companies to follow the example of CN to free it from containers, empty or full, which compromise its normal activities.

Now the series of trains that they have reinstated for these moves are the Q150-series trains.
Fun fact: Q157 was a twice monthly Halifax to Chicago APL train, similar to the Q170/Q171s that ran to and from Woodhaven/Toronto.
All of the containers on this train were empty and clogging the port of Montreal. CN is betting huge (CP too) on marketing Eastern ports as an alternative to clogged western ones.

LansingRailFan, were these old units sold to a "Scrapper?" Or were they sold to a railroad that is going to use them? Would have been nice to see this train. How many "Cowls" etc. remain on CN? Did this train go to Flat Rock? OK, the "Dead Cowls" didn't end up on E251 today! Does anyone where those "Dead" units went now? MAN!!!!
