CSXT C40-8 #9280 (ex 7627) has been released from Huntington in YN3c
Definitely not what I expected CSX to do
Here is a picture (not mine)
Just to be clear, these haven’t just been sitting around since CSX retired them. They went to a lesser who then sold a bunch of C40-8s to Pan Am Railways, and, with the recent acquisition by CSX, they’re now apparently back in the family at age 33. Looks good though!!
asking for help with info. working on notes for the 4500 series SD70's I show all but a few complete now as far as rebuilds go. 4500 will be cut up as its been hulked out per a local Huntington GA railfan and per video, I've seen. the following units I dont show rebuilt or repainted. can someone confirm this within??
4507-09
4513-15
4521
4524
4526
4568
and I know they've just begun the former conrail units so I wont add those onto this list yet.

4521 Same as above
4524 Cut up for scrap, just like 4500 will be according to the above
4526 Recently rebuilt and in YN3c paint
4568 Not yet done as far as I know

The six scheduled rebuilds from Erie, not Ft. Worth are now coming out, all former 400 series units. 437 is now 7275, 441 is now 7276, 456 is now 7277, 493 is now 7278. 447 "should" become 7279. Perhaps a mistake, but maybe not, but 480 is showing as 7380, not 7280.
One more new one from Ft. Worth is 7274, former 173-2 aka former CSX 1.
This video shows 493, 437, 480 and 447 before rebuilding at Erie. According to the video, the batch of units currently being rebuilt at Erie had pre-exisitng damage or issues that needed to be addressed before being rebuilt/modernized.
