Little visible damage was seen between East Lansing and Brighton on my trip home and back yesterday. Hard to identify any issues when most signals on the line default to a stop indication. Of note are portable generators at just about every signal bungalow I could see from the roads. The depot at Williamston was active both on the trip home and early in the morning on the way back, multiple running vehicles in the parking lot. In retrospect, I should have paid more attention to the code-line poles of which I have nothing to say. Power was completely out in Williamston, not one traffic light, not one shop, or street lamp was illuminated in the entire town. Webberville was a similar story, with power lines on their sides along M-52. Looking east from the crossing, a stop indication was seen, looking west, an approach. I am curious to see if the signal replacements will be expedited given the damage. I forgot to include, in my post about L302-25, that they passed the signal at CH 49 at track speed, not stopping for the dark signal. I had wondered if they need to stop before the automatics, it seems not.
No need to stop at intermediates, but they do need to reduce speed prepared to stop for any potential obstructions they may encounter before the next signal. Sounds like the code line is down between Fowlerville and Trowbridge in multiple locations, so all absolutes are talk by situations, which means restricted speed until a favorable signal is encountered.. Not sure if dispatcher has control of switches or not.
