HESR Power Roundup and Observations- 12 July 2008
As of 4:00pm today...
CORP 3838- Reese
HESR 3866- Reese
HESR- 3865- Wenona Yard
HESR- 3838- Wenona Yard
CMGN 5175- Wenona Yard
CMGN 8903- Wenona Yard
CMGN 200X- Wenona Yard (couldn't see the number)
CMGN 2014- Wenona Yard
HESR 4065- Wenona Yard
Also in Wenona, TPW 2002, CMGN ???? (unit wrecked by milk truck several years ago), unknown green/black unit parked behind wrecked CMGN unit, SGVY 998...
By CMGN, I'm referring to the paint, NOT the owning road. All units are technically owned by Huron and Eastern/Rail America...
Other HESR observations- Richville has a CSX unit grain train, they were loading it when I passed through yesterday evening, this afternoon they appeared to have three cars left to load. Also, there may be a fertilizer car in Richville.
Reese- 3838 and 3866 are parked south of M81, on the Vassar line. There is an ALHX CH apparently on the Vassar line, that appears to be parked beyond the end of the siding. Also, those empty coal hoppers/scrap gons that were in Vassar a while back if not AEX at that point, appear to have relatively fresh AEX reporting marks, although that may have been just the lighting this afternoon.
Yesterday evening, there was two strings of those SGVY beet hoppers separated by three ballast hoppers (probably with AEX markings), between Towerline and Airport Roads. Today, just one string of SGVY hoppers was left. The corn field is blocking most of the view of the line next to the scrap yard from M81.
Anyone know where HESR 3867 is? Also, does anyone know any more about the new loco rumored to be coming to the HESR?

It breaks my heart to see the original CMGN units in that condition Those were great days when CMGN used the 8800 and 8900 series engines on all their trains
PatC created a monster, 'cause nobody wants to see Don Simon no more they want AARR I'm chopped liver, well if you want AARR this is what I'll give ya, bad humor mixed with irrelevant info that'll make you roll your eyes quicker than a ~Z~ banhammer...
Yeah, seeing deadlines brings a tear to my eyes.Don Simon wrote:It breaks my heart to see the original CMGN units in that condition Those were great days when CMGN used the 8800 and 8900 series engines on all their trains

HESR 3867 and MNN 1471
These two units were in Bad Axe. 3867 was in the shop for its 92 day inspection on Tuesday. 1471 was working Pigeon Friday night.

Mr Simon this ones for you sir [img=http://img236.imageshack.us/img236/1796/op1000gc7.th.jpg] this is the northbound CMGN rocket at bennington road just north of durand taken july 1994, for power he has the 4502, 9210, and the 8902. sadly all units have been stricken from the roster. by the way this power is on its hands and knees trying to get up bennington hill.Don Simon wrote:It breaks my heart to see the original CMGN units in that condition Those were great days when CMGN used the 8800 and 8900 series engines on all their trains

Forgot to mention, when I was in Durand Thursday night, I saw one of the 8800 CMGN/HESR units back, way back, in the yard. Must've been the 8802...penn central wrote:Hello GTW6401 thay are presently using CMGN 8804.GTW6401 wrote:So which engine is working Paines to Alma then? It was 3868 earlier this winter but its been in Bay City for a while now, and ive not been to west of Paines lately to find out for myself.

HESR Power location today. Driving home from work at 07:30 noticed 1471/3866/3838 sitting at Towerline rd. they took a grain train to Saginaw last night pulling the cars from Reese, Richville and Gera. In Reese working the 810 job today is 3867. It would be my guess that the Towerline lash-up would work the 800 to Saginaw and then tye up at Arthur tonight for the 805 to take east.
