I believe L507/508 are Flint-Flatrock.

Re: Holly Sub Train Symbols
In response to odds and ends above.
The SD60's seem to be the new "Geeps" on GTW. I would think their six axle trucks would restrict them in some places but apparently not. CN did buy some new used four axle GP38's recently from BNSF or someone but I have not seen them here. Not sure how many of the 4600 GP9m's are still running as I have not seen one in a long time on the Holly.
Intermodel 189 I recall being a train from Prince Rupert. For a while a few years ago it ran once a week. It usually returned the next day but I do not recall the train number. It always had a DPU on it, unlike most intermodal trains (or most trains) on the Holly.

Re: Holly Sub Train Symbols
The geeps from BNSF are being used to repay back horsepower hours. CN arranged to use the four-axle power.
CN purchased some geeps. They are numbered in the 4900 series.
A few of the 4600 series GP9Rs are still in service but are rumored to be retired soon. They seem to be used mostly in Wisconsin now.
Regarding the intermodal extras, don't even worry about them. They don't generate enough containers to have a dedicated train from Moterm to Chicago. Even Q116 is filled out with autoracks for Flat Rock.

The BNSF 2098 (Burlington Northern Painted) was used in Ontario this past summer. It became one of the local engines in Brantford, Ontario until last month.Manistique wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 6:34 pmCN did buy some new used four axle GP38's recently from BNSF or someone but I have not seen them here.

Re: Holly Sub Train Symbols
Hey SD80MAC.
If 507 and 508 do originate and terminate at Flat Rock, I apologize.
I guess that makes more sense with the stop at Moterm.

Re: Holly Sub Train Symbols
I can’t remember ever seeing any loaded intermodal coming in or out of Flat Rock, only those that pass through on the shore sub. Flat Rock does have a ton of empty well cars being stored there right now. Some have been there for about a year now.GTW6401 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 7:13 pmThe geeps from BNSF are being used to repay back horsepower hours. CN arranged to use the four-axle power.

Was that me you are referring to? Anyways I know the Holly Sub very well and what runs on it. After all, it was the line that started it all for me. So here's a list of trains that run on it per day.NickThatRailfan wrote: ↑Sat Nov 11, 2023 6:00 pmWell I met a guy in Battle Creek today he lives in Royal Oak he said that in Royal Oak theres about 12-14 trains a day

Re: Holly Sub Train Symbols
OK, since this was posted there are updates to these trains! As of recent (2024), trains 507/508 are running between Flat Rock and Flint! The CN "GTW Heritage" SD70M-2 #8952 and CN SD70M-2 #8859 are working this train!!!! I have yet to catch! Alright, is it true only one set of power starts/ends at opposite ends? If 8952 is leading from Flat Rock one day, would this reverse power return to Flat Rock the next day? Another set of power must run each train the opposite direction the same day! Today (Sat. January 6) 8952 was trailing south from Flint! I don't think this power came by earlier today because last night it headed north! In this case (if 8952 stays on these trains), 8952 should lead north from Flat Rock this Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday etc. Is this correct? I have a chance to see this train either Tuesday or Thursday! Looks like it heads north through Royal Oak in the mid afternoon! Hopefully before dark!David Lang wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2023 5:29 pmCN L507-61 - Daily Northbound Pontiac to Flint/Moterm

Re: Holly Sub Train Symbols
Maybe you'll get lucky & those engines stay on 507/508.
I wouldn't expect getting it in daylight either. 507 usually works at Moterm between 5 & 6pm.
