The control point Coolidge is in River Rouge. Its basically where CN enters the Shared Assets.GrandTrunkPontiac wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 5:37 pmLansingRailFan wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 2:14 pm
14:17 - NB S756 61 with CN 8952 (GTW HU) leading/CN 8859 trailing is at Coolidge.
I see now that "Coolidge" was not referring to NB at Coolidge Hwy & 14 Mile in Royal Oak, otherwise I would have ran over to Pontiac Amtrak to catch my favorite locomotive. I had assumed I had already missed it passing through Pontiac by the time I read that at around 14:45.
I take it that "Coolidge" is a reference to somewhere downriver, or at least somewhere down in Wayne County. Live and learn! Maybe I can catch it when it comes back to Holly Sub weeks/months from now.
Now for the road name. It's Coolidge down to 8 Mile, then becomes Schaefer in Detroit and Dearborn.
Schaefer becomes Coolidge again in River Rouge. It ends at West Jefferson Avenue.
It was also once called Dearborn Road in River Rouge, which is how the former Dearoad Yard got its name.
