Re: GLC Train Location Updates - June 2024
I watch several videoers who post on YouTube and it seems GLC is assigning more engines to their trains lately

2 or 3 tops. I'm not sure where you're seeing a massive increase?

The videos are mostly from Ithaca where three to four engines are common.
Videos south of Owosso usually have two or three unless it’s a unit grain then there might be one more.

Re: GLC Train Location Updates - June 2024
Recently they did use four engines to go north with a road train. Left two with the train and two stayed in Ithaca.AARR wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 12:20 pmThe videos are mostly from Ithaca where three to four engines are common.

Grain trains get 3 to 4 depending on engine and weight of train. I thought you were referring to them using 4 or more engines on a standard daily train.
There's lots of shuttle moves between Middleton/Durand and Ithaca.
Nothing new on them using any more or less engines than before for heavy trains.
Sounds like crews are enjoying the regular start times, customer switches and job duties.

I'm not sure if they've resumed Oakley-Ithaca shuttles as they had stopped last year.

Re: GLC Train Location Updates - June 2024
On Tuesday they ended up with 329 slightly off the rails in Ithaca.LansingRailFan wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 4:03 pmOW12 aka ONTN today had 329/384/396/393. They are currently at ZFS.
Looks like a relief crew finally brought the train down yesterday around 7:15 with 393/396/384/329 and 94 cars all from ZFS (12 long boy tank cars and 82 covered hoppers)
Wednesday's OW12/"ONTN" had 396/384/383 and was too long to count due to my addhd. it was a long train and at some point i stared off into the abyss as it rolled by. had to have been 80-100 cars but who knows just slenderman knows.
Thursday
09:29 - OW11/"OSTN" was SB thru Durand with 382/329 at and a long train today with probably half of it being empty scrap tie gondolas from McBain. Outside of the loads from ZFS the train looked to be all empties.
