Like delta, Defiance has suddenly become an economic hotspot. And one for rail shippers, like for instance on the west side of town out where US 24 passes by the highway patrol post there. The open area south of the CSx mainline will be home to a new customer in which CSX and the NDW will share this business. It will be a large fertilizer manufacturer.

CSX could have a new rail customer on their hands in the form of baby formula as abbott nutrition looks to break ground on BGS north side out near the airport.

New industry is locating to Fostoria and the one that located where the old Thyssenkrup plant used to be makes vinyl tile and flooring. They are NOX and they located there from South Korea, Sometime in the past couple of months excavation began on installing a two track spur behind the plant off the c&o to bring in hoppers of pvc. this past month a carolina nonwovens plant located in an industrial park just south of there but nothing about rail shipments and is not feasible at this time. they located here because of nox and across from there in what used to be intermetro industries a former plastics plant a plastics recycler has moved into that facility. over in lima on the iory the troyer warehouse was supposedly planning an addition to their facility but we have yet to see any activity here. meanwhile back in fostoria, there is a logisitcs place on the fostorias north side that sees boxcars, and im not sure which company it is. over on ns im not sure how much traffic the new mennel wheat dump is doing for ns.

No activity... if you ignore the massive amount of land they cleared last year...
